Morning:
Text: 1 Corinthians 2:10-16
Title: The Mind of Christ
Questions:
1. If the wisdom of this age, the wisdom of man, cannot save, and God’s wisdom, revealed in crucified Christ can save, but is above man’s ability to understand, how is man to be saved?
2. By whom does this saving wisdom come?
3. In what manner is this wisdom taught or communicated?
4. How is this wisdom received?
Evening:
Text: Psalm 42
Title: Hope for the Downcast Soul
Questions:
1. What does this Psalm demonstrate about a Christian’s emotional state? Is a Christian always positive and upbeat?
2. Think of this Psalm as a dialogue between our faith (what we believe about God and His goodness) and our senses (what we see and experience in our circumstances). Divide the Psalm into the corresponding speeches between faith and sense, with faith having the first and last words. [Hint: faith speaks four times; sense three.]
3. What is the Psalmist’s condition?
4. What does he desire; and how does he desire it?
